Game Night - Among Us IRL

This party started the best way possible. My daughter and her friends asked for it.
They wanted a game night. More specifically… they wanted to play Among Us in real life.
I had no idea what that meant at first, but after a quick deep dive, I realized something:this is actually the perfect teen party game. It’s interactive, a little chaotic, super engaging—and most importantly—they don’t get bored.
My Goal for Game Night
I had two priorities:
Make it teen-approved
Keep it simple enough for me to run
Because here’s the truth: If it’s too complicated to execute, it’s not fun to host.
What is Among Us IRL?
If you’re new to it, here’s the quick version:
Players are either Crewmates or Imposters
Crewmates complete tasks
Imposters secretly “eliminate” players
Everyone works together to figure out who the imposter is
There are also:
Task stations
Emergency meetings
A LOT of debating and laughing
And somehow… it just works.
How I Set It Up Among Us IRL
I created:
Task stations around the house
Role cards (Crewmate vs Imposter)
Simple instructions + flow
A system for “eliminations” and meetings
The key? Keep the tasks simple. Some examples:
Stack cups in a pattern
Complete a quick puzzle
Move items from one place to another
Nothing fancy—but surprisingly competitive.
The Printable (Your Shortcut)
I’ll be honest… making this from scratch takes time.
So I turned everything into a printable pack:
Role cards
Task cards
Instructions
Setup guide
So you can literally print, cut, and go.
👉 If you want to recreate this without the guesswork, the full printable is linked here.
The Best Part
They didn’t just play once. They played round after round after round. By round five or six, they:
Started modifying tasks
Added their own ideas
Made it even funnier
That’s when you know a party activity is a win—when they take ownership of it.
Keep the Rest Simple
Because this game was a “high effort” element, the menu stayed easy:
Chicken tenders
Fries
Bagel bites
Chips + dips
A quick salad
No stress. No overthinking.
Final Thoughts
This was one of my more prep-heavy parties…but the payoff was huge.
They were engaged. They were laughing. They stayed present.
And honestly, that’s the goal every time.
If you’re planning a teen party and need something that actually holds their attention…this is it.
Till Next Time,
Holly
